Original Deck
This old treated pine deck has worn out and badly needs to be replaced. It is unsafe and not very appealing. Several boards are warped, nails often creep up causing a bare foot hazard, one area has broken, and two trees are cramped by the deck surface. We have chosen to replace this area with a combination of cedar decking and a pavestone patio. As we go through the process check back to see updates.

The deck consists of two levels. A lower level 12 x 20 ft and the upper level 14 x 12 ft. The recent construction of a home behind now renders the upper deck undesirable. The entire neighbors backyard is visible while standing on the upper deck. Outdoor grilling is another issue. We often grill and it is not recommended that grilling be done on a wooden deck for obvious reasons. The concrete pavers will be perfect for this activity.
